Summaries

Summary Sentence: CSC aims to foster a passion for and define a tradition of community service among all members of the Tech community.

Full Summary: The Community Service Council returned to campus in Fall 2011 with the purpose of fostering a passion for and defining a tradition of community service among all members of the Georgia Tech community.

The Community Service Council at Georgia Tech (CSC) is proud to announce its official launch on campus.

Service has always been an integral part of the Georgia Tech experience, starting from the moment Georgia Tech decided to make its motto "Progress and Service," and during the launch the CSC plans to recognize that tradition with the theme of "Service through the Years."

Members of the campus community will have the chance to stroll through a timeline on Tech Walk showcasing the Institute’s rich history of service and engagement. Service organizations will participate alongside the timeline, hosting mini-service projects that represent the service opportunities available to the Tech community. Interested organizations can contact Bones at ejbones@gatech.edu to participate.

The Community Service Council returned to campus in Fall 2011 with the purpose of fostering a passion for and defining a tradition of community service among all members of the Georgia Tech community. The CSC, a student-led initiative working in conjunction with the Office of Community Service, will achieve this purpose in three main ways: by encouraging service participation among the members of the Georgia Tech community; by creating a support structure for service organizations; and by working with administrators to encourage service and civic engagement at an Institute level.
