On Tuesday, January 31st at noon the Center for International Strategy, Technology, and Policy (CISTP) will host a talk by Chip White and Alan Erera (GT-ISye) on "Reducing the Vulnerability of a Supply Chain to an Intentional Attack."
Abstract
We present an approach for quantifying the vulnerability of a supply chain to an intentional attack, assuming that the attack weapon is a biological or chemical agent and that both the attacker and defender are intelligent and adaptive. We further assume that the attacker intends to use the supply chain as a weapons delivery platform, rather than destroy or disable the supply chain. We then discuss application of this approach to a liquid egg supply chain under possible attack by botulinum toxin.

About Chip White
Chelsea C. White III received his Ph.D. from the University of Michigan (UM) in 1974 in Computer, Information, and Control Engineering. He has served on the faculties of the University of Virginia (1976 - 1990) and UM (1990 -2001). He has served as school chair of the H. Milton Stewart School of Industrial & Systems Engineering (2005 -10) and holds the Schneider National Chair of Transportation and Logistics at the Georgia Institute of Technology, where he is the director of the Trucking Industry Program (TIP) and the former executive director of The Logistics Institute. He is currently on leave from Georgia Tech to found an Industrial & Systems Engineering department and a logistics center at Khalifa University in Abu Dhabi.
