There is now a CONTENT FREEZE for Mercury while we switch to a new platform. It began on Friday, March 10 at 6pm and will end on Wednesday, March 15 at noon. No new content can be created during this time, but all material in the system as of the beginning of the freeze will be migrated to the new platform, including users and groups. Functionally the new site is identical to the old one. webteam@gatech.edu

Synthesis and Electronic/Chiroptical Properties of Ï-Stacked Polymers
Dibenzofulvene and its derivatives afford polymers through vinyl polymerization, and the resulting polymers have pi-stacked conformation where the main chain has a nearly all-trans (zigzag) conformation and the side chain fluorene moieties are regularly stacked on top of each other. Based on this structure, pi-stacked polymers indicate intriguing photoeletronic properties. This lecture will focus on the synthesis of the Ï-stacked polymers by anionic polymerization technique, their detailed structural analyses, and their properties including electronic and chiroptical aspects.
