Prof. Dennis Liotta, Emory University

New Therapies for Treating Cancer and Inflammation

The combined efforts of chemists, pharmacologists and biochemists at Emory have successfully resulted in the development of novel and selective preclinical and clinical agents of biomedical interest. I will briefly describe two ongoing projects involving collaborations with Emory University School of Medicine faculty that have resulted in the identification of novel small molecules targeted to proteins of high biomedical interest. These include analogs of the natural product, triptolide, as well as synthetic analogs that modulate several important signal transduction processes.
