Awards announced for the Undergraduate Research Opportunities Program for Fall 2009. The PURA awards fund individual requests by student/faculty teams which support undergraduate student involvement in faculty research.

Awards announced for the Undergraduate Research Opportunities Program for Fall 2009. The PURA awards fund individual requests by student/faculty teams which support undergraduate student involvement in faculty research.

The main emphases of the PURA awards will be for student salaries and travel expenses for undergraduates to attend professional meetings to give presentations.

Either the faculty team member or the undergraduate student can propose the idea for the project, however, the proposal to the awards committee must be written by the student.

Students wishing to work at GTRI may also apply with a Research Scientist and must be U.S. citizens. Students should be in good academic standing when they apply.

Students may apply for $1500 (max) salary awards or $1000 (max) travel awards. Students are eligible for only one successful salary award per academic year, but may apply for travel awards within the same academic year.
