There is now a CONTENT FREEZE for Mercury while we switch to a new platform. It began on Friday, March 10 at 6pm and will end on Wednesday, March 15 at noon. No new content can be created during this time, but all material in the system as of the beginning of the freeze will be migrated to the new platform, including users and groups. Graduate student Ashley Tucker (Hernandez Group) was awarded a Best Poster Award at the Physical Division Poster Symposium on Wednesday evening at the ACS Spring 2010 National Meeting.
Only 7 of approximately 360 posters presented were selected for this award. Ashley's paper titled "Liquid crystal phases under the presence of a rotating external field" was selected for presentation at Sci-Mix.
In addition to her poster, Ashley presented talks on "Using molecular dynamics to understand liquid crystal phases under the presence of a rotating external field" (COMP paper 362) and "Surprising long-time correlation of a rod-like particle diffusing through a random media" (PHYS paper 23.)
