There is now a CONTENT FREEZE for Mercury while we switch to a new platform. It began on Friday, March 10 at 6pm and will end on Wednesday, March 15 at noon. No new content can be created during this time, but all material in the system as of the beginning of the freeze will be migrated to the new platform, including users and groups. The 2010 Chemistry and Biochemistry Graduate Student Research Symposium and Homecoming Events were held on October 8-9, 2010. The symposium included six excellent presentations by senior graduate students who were finalists for the graduate student research awards.
Awards were presented to the following:
First Place:Edward Hohenstein (Sherrill group)
Second Place:Anthony Baldridge (Tolbert group)
Third Place:Kathy Woody (Collard group), Chun-Wan Yen (El-Sayed group), Adam Offenbacher (Barry group)
Runner-up:
Glenn Harris (Fernandez group)
Best Second Year Seminar Award: True Merrill
Outstanding Graduate Teaching Assistant Awards:
Nikki Burns, Lee Goetz, Matthew Kennedy, Lisa Vaughan
A reception following the symposium was held in the atrium of the Molecular Science and Engineering building for symposium attendees and to kick-off homecoming festivities. A tailgating event, sponsored by the Chemistry Graduate Student Forum, was held on Saturday for students, faculty, alumni and friends.
