Media

Ms. Kristen Powell, third year chemistry undergraduate, was the recipient of a $1,000 research project design award by Celanese Corporation.

Celanese Corporation is a global leader in the chemicals industry and world's largest producer of acetic acid. For the competition, chemistry and biochemistry undergraduates were given a current scientific challenge faced by Celanese and asked to design a process to improve or solve the problem. Representatives from Celanese provided counsel to the students during the term and assisted with judging (along with Chemistry faculty) in the review of the project designs.

Congratulations to Kristen! Thanks to Celanese for support of this endeavor.
