Summaries

Summary Sentence: To celebrate the start of the spring semester your invited to be a part of building a community of support at Georgia Tech.

Full Summary: Georgia Tech and the Ivan Allen College are dedicated to the support and sustaining of an inclusive community in which all students, faculty, and staff can thrive. The Reception for LBGTQ Faculty, Staff and Allies takes more deliberate steps to build a vibrant, respectful, productive and intellectually engaged community.

To celebrate the start of the spring semester, come be a part of building a community of support for the lesbian, bisexual, gay, transgendered, queer faculty, staff and allies at Georgia Tech. Students have led the way in increasing LBGTQ visibility at Tech, with such efforts as the recent “It Gets Better” video and last year’s campaign in Technique. These student actions are inspiring, and faculty and staff have our own distinct concerns. LBGTQ faculty & staff and allies would like to complement and enrich the community building efforts at Tech.  You are invited to join us for a reception of light refreshments and to begin the conversation about fostering community at all levels of the Institute.

Hosted by Cara Gormally (School of Biology) and Anne Pollock (Literature, Communication & Culture), with the generous support of the Office of Institute Diversity.
