Emerging Voices 11 is an exhibition dedicated to celebrating the work and talent of Atlanta's young architecture community, opening on January 10, 2012 and running through January 22.
The exhibition spotlights the work of two remarkable architects honored for their work by Emerging Voices 2011, an annual competition that highlights the high quality work of young architects throughout Atlanta. Emerging Voices winners in 2011 are Ryan Gravel for his work that led to the Atlanta BeltLine and Tristan al-Haddad for his research and experimentation with Formations Studio and at the Georgia Institute of Technology. As part of this exhibition, Gravel and Al-Haddad will each present their work in one of MODA's galleries.
Also on view will be the results of the 48 Hour Design Competition. Modeled after the "charette" - a pre-1900 exercise at the Ecoloe des Beaux in France - the competition tests the design ability of Atlanta's students, designers, and architects (up to 10 years of licensure) to respond in a brief period of time to pertinent design issues facing the city of Atlanta.
