A meeting of the Piedmont Alliance for Quality Growth, an organizational outgrowth of meetings of mayors, business and academia representatives from the Piedmont Atlantic Megaregion will occur on March 10-11, 2010 in Macon, GA. Megaregions are those groupings of several urban areas, linked by social, economic, demographic, environmental, and cultural ties, joining together to make infrastructure and planning decisions. The Piedmont Atlantic Megaregion (PAM) includes all or parts of six southern states - Alabama, Florida, Georgia North Carolina, South Carolina and Tennessee - and serves as an economic corridor stretching from Birmingham, AL to Raleigh, NC.
This is the third meeting of a series of events to link business, government, and academic leaders in PAM to promote infrastructure to increase global economic competitiveness in the southeast region.
