There is now a CONTENT FREEZE for Mercury while we switch to a new platform. It began on Friday, March 10 at 6pm and will end on Wednesday, March 15 at noon. No new content can be created during this time, but all material in the system as of the beginning of the freeze will be migrated to the new platform, including users and groups. Following her speech to the Tennessee chapter of the American Planning Agency and promotion of her book Megaregions: Planning for Global Competitiveness, Dr. Catherine Ross warned Chattanooga about the potential changes associated with the location of the Volkswagen plant on the surrounding community. Strong zoning laws are vital to protect the community assets. According to Ross, the auto plant could affect everything from public safety, transportation, education, and the health and welfare of residents.
