Dean Alan Balfour announces the winners of the 2009-2010 Women of Excellence Awards: Dr. Nancey Green Leigh (Professor â€" City and Regional Planning); Paola Sanguinetti (Ph.D. candidate â€"Architecture); and Krystal Persaud (Senior â€" Industrial Design).

Dean Alan Balfour is pleased to announce the winners of the 2009-2010 Georgia Tech College of Architecture NSF ADVANCE Program Women of Excellence Awards.

These awards are presented to individuals who have distinguished themselves through their leadership, scholarship and sustained service on behalf of the Georgia Institute of Technology and the College of Architecture. In particular, honorees were judged on criteria of academic leadership in their discipline, professional leadership and mentoring within the university and the College of Architecture, and contribution to intellectual and social success of the Tech community.

The 2009-2010 Award Winners are:

CoA-ADVANCE Women of Excellence Faculty Award ($1500)
Professor Nancey Green Leigh, Ph.D., FAICP
Professor- School of City and Regional Planning

CoA-ADVANCE Women of Excellence Graduate Award ($800)
Paola Sanguinetti
Ph.D. candidate- School of Architecture

CoA-ADVANCE Women of Excellence Undergraduate Award ($500)

Senior Undergraduate Student- School of Industrial Design
