Georgia Tech police officers, Tiger, Tarzan and Hooch each received bullet-proof/stab-proof vests courtesy of Vest N PDP.
Vest N PDP is a non-profit group that raises money to buy protective vests for police dogs. Since its founding in 2002, the organization has donated vests to more than 40 police dogs in Georgia, including officers from the Atlanta Police Department (APD) and the MARTA Police Department. Each vest costs the group approximately $700.
Georgia Tech K-9 officers' duties stretch beyond the Tech campus and into the local community. They often are called in to assist APD's K-9 officers as their officers are bomb-sniffing dogs and Tech's are trained to patrol as well as identify potential explosives.
