There is now a CONTENT FREEZE for Mercury while we switch to a new platform. It began on Friday, March 10 at 6pm and will end on Wednesday, March 15 at noon. No new content can be created during this time, but all material in the system as of the beginning of the freeze will be migrated to the new platform, including users and groups. Tony Giarrusso and Georgia Tech's Strategic Energy Institute have partnered with Georgia's Department of Natural Resources, Coastal Resurce Division, to address Coastal and Marine Spatial Planning in Georgia. Over the five year duration of the project, the Center for GIS will develop a Coastal Georgia GIS Web Portal and Data Atlas to be used by government, industry, academia and citizens concerned with coastal issues. Funding for year one is $ 100,000. Year one efforts will focus on stakeholder involvement to identify common data sets and issues, physical data compilation and web portal development.
