Coastal MapTony Giarrusso and Georgia Tech's Strategic Energy Institute have partnered with Georgia's Department of Natural Resources, Coastal Resurce Division, to address Coastal and Marine Spatial Planning in Georgia. Over the five year duration of the project, the Center for GIS will develop a Coastal Georgia GIS Web Portal and Data Atlas to be used by government, industry, academia and citizens concerned with coastal issues. Funding for year one is $ 100,000. Year one efforts will focus on stakeholder involvement to identify common data sets and issues, physical data compilation and web portal development.
