There is now a CONTENT FREEZE for Mercury while we switch to a new platform. It began on Friday, March 10 at 6pm and will end on Wednesday, March 15 at noon. No new content can be created during this time, but all material in the system as of the beginning of the freeze will be migrated to the new platform, including users and groups. Bobby Schweizer, a Digital Media PhD student and co-author of Newsgames: Journalism at Play discusses Los 33, a newsgame about the rescue of the Chilean miners, "It's trying to get across that concept that maybe you can't explain in a written article or a television report that this rescue process is going to take a long while. When you see the clips of it edited together as each of the miners returns to the surface and they have 5 seconds or 3 seconds of each of their faces you don't get that real sense of how long that actually took.
