Second in a series with that theme, Broadband 2020 aims to take stock of progress to date toward pervasive broadband connectivity and the steps needed to take to achieve measurable and world-leading levels of broadband-for-all by the year 2020. Distinguished speakers and panelists will describe the many dimensions of the challenge: technology, services, economics and policy, and will help calibrate progress in the implementation of the national broadband plan. The symposium comes at a time when broadband has been recognized as one of the nation's imperatives and much attention is being paid to the best possible use of broadband resources and stimulus funds.
The audience will include thought leaders and practitioners from academia and industry as well as students, and the symposium will highlight the importance of public-private partnership in accomplishing the formidable goals of Broadband 2020.
