Douglas A. “Doug” Furbush, 63, project director in the Manufacturing Research Center (MaRC), died on Sept. 24 from complications after suffering a brain aneurysm.

Since 2002, Furbush had researched, created and led a variety of software development projects for Georgia Tech.

“Doug was an important part of the MaRC family and will be deeply missed by all of his colleagues here and throughout Georgia Tech,” said MaRC Interim Director Shreyes Melkote. 

Furbush is survived by his wife, Margaret; children, Gael-Marie and Daniel Furbush; his sister; and two grandchildren.

Funeral services were held on Sept. 28.
