On Oct. 11, Andrew Young addressed members of the Georgia Tech community as part of the Freshman Reading Project. This year, students read a collection of King’s work, “I Have a Dream: Writings and Speeches that Changed the World.” The former United Nations ambassador and former Atlanta mayor was an early leader in the civil rights movement and is one of three surviving aides who was with Martin Luther King Jr. when he was assassinated in Memphis, Tenn.
