There is now a CONTENT FREEZE for Mercury while we switch to a new platform. It began on Friday, March 10 at 6pm and will end on Wednesday, March 15 at noon. No new content can be created during this time, but all material in the system as of the beginning of the freeze will be migrated to the new platform, including users and groups. Matti Tarvainen is the Team Leader of the Trade and Technology Analysis Team (TTA) of the IAEA Department of Safeguards. He has 29 years of experience in safeguards both on the national (SSAC) and the international level. Before joining the IAEA in 2002 he held a position of Principal Advisor at the Radiation and Nuclear Safety Authority (STUK) in Finland and his main responsibilities included safeguards R&D and IAEA Safeguards Support Programme coordination. In the Agency, his main responsibilities included safeguards State evaluation before establishment of the TTA – Trade and Technology Analysis Unit in 2004. He has an advanced degree, Licentiate of Philosophy, in applied nuclear physics and radiochemistry from the University of Jyväskylä, Finland.
