Boston on September Jobs Numbers

There is now a CONTENT FREEZE for Mercury while we switch to a new platform. It began on Friday, March 10 at 6pm and will end on Wednesday, March 15 at noon.  "There was really a growing fear and uncertainty, and a lot of economists were concerned we really were getting close to that double dip [recession], so this really kind of calms the fear, and it came out a little better than we expected. Certainly it is still about half of what we need in terms of jobs, but it calms the fear," said Thomas "Danny" Boston, Professor in the School of Economics, in a televised interview on CNN about the September jobs numbers.
