The College of Architecture Alumni Committee is partnering with the Georgia Tech Career Services to host a workshop on August 11, 2009 from 4:00 pm to 6:00 pm in the Clary Theater. To be held in the Bill Moore Student Success Center the workshop will provide valuable information about the Georgia Tech Career Services for both the job seeker and employer. Ralph Mobley, director of career services, also will focus on job-searching and networking strategies. Len Contardo, Vice-President for Alumni Outreach for the Georgia Tech Alumni Association, will speak on career-related services offered by the GT Alumni Association. Mobley explains, “The ways in which people find jobs and find employees have changed drastically over the past decade, it is imperative that people learn new strategies that will enable them to be competitive as both job seekers and employers.”
In addition to hearing about what Career Services offers and new employment tactics, the workshop will provide participants a chance to ask questions, discuss issues, and meet other alumni from the College.
“In listening to our alumni and their needs over the past six months, the Alumni Committee is excited about co-hosting a career workshop,” said Mike Brown, current president of the College Alumni Committee Board of Directors. “In this economic environment, it is especially important for all of us to improve our skills while increasing our network. We want to continue to host useful events that connect our alumni to the College and Institute.”
