Library Mobile Web Site Offers New Features

*********************************
There is now a CONTENT FREEZE for Mercury while we switch to a new platform. It began on Friday, March 10 at 6pm and will end on Wednesday, March 15 at noon. No new content can be created during this time, but all material in the system as of the beginning of the freeze will be migrated to the new platform, including users and groups. Functionally the new site is identical to the old one. webteam@gatech.edu

Full Summary:

Visit the Library's Web site from your mobile device to find the information you need using a suite of new features.

The new features of the Georgia Tech Library’s mobile Web site give library users more access to information and services wherever they go.

Currently, the site is optimized for iPhones and Android smart phones. It can be accessed at http://m.library.gatech.edu. Users who visit the regular library homepage from a mobile device will be automatically redirected to the mobile version.

The Library launched the mobile site during the summer 2011, but a recent upgrade introduced the following new features:

  • Check library hours for all locations
  • Search the library catalog for books, journals, reports, theses and dissertations and more
  • View research guides for all majors or disciplines offered at Tech
  • Find subject librarians
  • View library classes and workshops
  • Access the live feed of computer availability in the Library East and West Commons

These features are designed to help users conveniently find library information and research assistance wherever they may be. Check out the Georgia Tech Library mobile site from your cell phone at http://library.gatech.edu.
