Mitch Schlimer has been a serial and social entrepreneur for the past three decades. He is the founder of the EPICENTER, which is the home of the Entrepreneur Hall of Fame and is also the host of “Let’s Talk Business,” which is an award winning radio show that now airs every Saturday from 12noon-1PM on Georgia Tech's 100K Watt WREK, 91.1 FM or on the web at www.wrek.org.

Doug Shipman is currently serving as the Chief Executive Officer of the
National Center for Civil and Human Rights (NCCHR). Prior to this
position, Doug was a Principal in the Atlanta office of the Boston
Consulting Group. He has been featured in articles in the Atlanta
Business Chronicle, Atlanta Journal Constitution, Atlanta Magazine,
Business To Business, and Southern Voice. He was named one of Atlanta
Business Chronicle’s “40 Under 40” in 2008, one of Georgia Trend’s “40
Under 40” in 2009, and he received the New Leaders Council 40 Under 40
award in 2010.
Mr. Shipman has a master’s degree in Public Policy from the Kennedy
School of Government at Harvard University, a master’s of Theological
Studies from the Harvard Divinity School with an emphasis on religion in
public situations and politics, and a bachelor’s degree from Emory
University with majors in Economics and Political Science.

A.J. Robinson is the president of Central Atlanta Progress (CAP) and the
Atlanta Downtown Improvement District (ADID). CAP has created and spun
off a number of organizations such as Trees Atlanta, Research Atlanta,
COPA, Inc. and the Midtown Alliance. In 1995, CAP created the ADID and
the Ambassador Force® of downtown to address public safety and cleaning
concerns. Mr. Robinson has guided the organizations in accomplishments
that include the passage of public space vending legislation, the
creation of a City wide anti-panhandling program, the continuing
revitalization of Woodruff Park, the successful passage of new
legislation involving tax allocation districts Statewide, and the
creation of the Atlanta Dream, a WNBA team.
The former President of Portman Holdings, he was responsible for all
activities of this multi-dimensional real estate company with offices in
Atlanta, Charlotte, Shanghai and Warsaw. Mr. Robinson is a graduate of
Harvard School of Business, where he received a Master’s Degree in
Business Administration. He also has a Bachelor’s Degree in Business
Administration from Emory University.
About the Impact Speaker Series
Since 2002, the IMPACT Speaker Series has brought highly successful business leaders from a variety of industries to campus to share their experiences and give advice to students and other entrepreneurs on topics ranging from "building a venture around intellectual capital" to "successful entrepreneurship in large organizations" and "socially responsible leadership".
The weekly series provides Georgia Tech students, alumni and the Atlanta business community an opportunity to network and learn from successful entrepreneurs, venture capitalists, and notable business and non-profit leaders. Events for the series take place in the LeCraw Auditorium in the College of Management building at 4:30 pm on Wednesdays unless otherwise noted.
The series is free and open to the public, and reservations are not required.
