The School of Industrial Design at Georgia Tech welcomes Carolina Gill, who will speak about her work and research projects in the field of industrial design.

The lecture will be held on Tuesday October 25th 11-12PM at the College of Architecture Auditorium, located first floor 245 4th St. NW Atlanta, GA 30332. Metered visitor parking available near the address on 4th Street.

Carolina Gill is an Associate Professor for the Department of Industrial, Interior and Visual Communication Design at The Ohio State University, where she has been a member of the faculty since 2003. She has been the coordinator of the Foundations program and the Industrial Design Major and has been responsible for developing structure, content and managing staff in implementing and teaching courses at the undergraduate level. More recently she has directed all curricular activities for the Department of Design, and serves in College and University curricular conversion committees, as Ohio State prepares to move to a semester academic calendar in 2012.

Professor Gill’s research interests relate to the challenges and opportunities inherent in generating and communicating design concepts within cross-disciplinary team settings, particularly during the early phases of the design process. Her research outcomes have significantly influenced curriculum development in the Design department and in the College of Engineering; her work with colleagues in ME has impacted the development of a very popular technical elective in product design engineering. Her work has been published in international journals and conferences proceedings and her research efforts have been recently rewarded with the 2009 Erasmus Mundus Research Fellowship and the 2011“Building Bridges Excellence Award” by the College of Engineering at Ohio State University.
