The School of Industrial Design at Georgia Tech welcomes Winslow Burleson, who will speak about his work and research projects in the field of industrial design.

The lecture will be held on Thursday October 13th 11-12PM at the College of Architecture Auditorium, located first floor 245 4th St. NW Atlanta, GA 30332. Metered visitor parking available near the address on 4th Street.

Dr. Winslow Burleson is an Assistant Professor ofHuman Computer Interaction at Arizona State University in the Computer Systems Engineering and the Arts, Media, and Engineering programs. He received his PhD from the MIT Media Lab’s Affective Computing Group, an MSE in Product Design from Stanford University, and a BA in Bio-Physics from Rice University. He has taught product design and visual thinking at Stanford, MIT, and ASU and has been awarded 10 patents, four innovator awards from IBM Research, and two Time Magazine Awards for top inventions of the year. The National Academy of Engineering recognized him as “one of the nation’s leading engineering researchers and educators”.  As founding director of ASU’s Motivational Environments Research Group and the Inventors Workshop he has raised over $3.4 million in research funding. He has authored over 70 scholarly publications in creativity and design research and exhibited his work at the Pompidou Centre and Exploratorium.
