If you have been craving a chicken salad club ever since St. Charles Deli closed its doors months ago, you won’t have to wait much longer to get your fix.
By late September, the sandwich shop hopes to be open in its new location at 68 Fifth St. Just don’t look for a “St. Charles Deli” sign.
“Since our new menu is focusing on classic, well-known American sandwiches, we are re-branding ourselves as Chuck’s Famous,” said Owner Doug Cleary. “Chuck is short for Charles, so the new name made sense.”
Many of the menu items will be the same, but Chuck’s Famous will also feature new items, such as sandwiches from around the country including the muffaletta from New Orleans. Chuck’s will use fresh-baked bread from the Breadgarden, a local artisan bakery, and will slow roast its meat.
For the latest information about Chuck’s, follow the restaurant on Facebook or Twitter. Chuck’s will be open Monday through Saturday from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m.
