President’s Scholarship Program Names New Director

This fall, Chaffee W. Viets will join the Georgia Tech President’s Scholarship Program as its new director. 

“Chaffee’s past experience makes him an invaluable resource to the Institute’s President’s Scholarship Program,” said Paul Kohn, vice provost for enrollment services. “We look forward to seeing what he can do to take the program to the next level.”   

Viets comes to Tech from Apex, N.C., where he has served as a consultant to the Robertson Scholars Program at Duke University and the University of North Carolina-Chapel Hill. 

Prior to that, Viets was associate director for the Caldwell Fellows at North Carolina State University (NCSU), where he also spent a decade working with the Park Scholarships program. 

Viets earned his bachelor’s and master’s degrees in history from NCSU.
