There is now a CONTENT FREEZE for Mercury while we switch to a new platform. It began on Friday, March 10 at 6pm and will end on Wednesday, March 15 at noon. No new content can be created during this time, but all material in the system as of the beginning of the freeze will be migrated to the new platform, including users and groups. Atlanta has foreclosed property and shuttered banks galore, as well as one of the largest park deficits of any metro area in the country. Ambitious as it sounds, a team at the Georgia Tech Research Institute is working on a solution for all those problems. Kevin Caravati, a senior research scientist at GTRI in Atlanta, is national program director for the “Redfields to Greenfields” project — an initiative intended to show how Atlanta and 10 other U.S. cities can turn the nation’s real estate meltdown into an asset.
