There is now a CONTENT FREEZE for Mercury while we switch to a new platform. It began on Friday, March 10 at 6pm and will end on Wednesday, March 15 at noon. No new content can be created during this time, but all material in the system as of the beginning of the freeze will be migrated to the new platform, including users and groups. Functionally the new site is identical to the old one. webteam@gatech.edu

"Sweatshop is a game that... becomes gradually more and more complex to control over time. As its play deepens, so too does its procedural rhetoric," writes Simon Ferrari, Digital Media PhD student in the School of Literature, Communication and Culture, about Sweatshop, a new browser game developed by Littleloud for the British Government's Channel 4 Education.
Sweatshop is a strategy game in which players fill the role of a manager of a sweatshop floor in an anonymous developing nation. As Ferrari writes, "Sweatshop's strategy is to pull you into the antagonist's mindset; it forces you into the cold logic of sweatshop management and leaves you to reflect on your own descent into it."
