Foley Elected Vice President of SIGGRAPH

Jim Foley, professor in the School of Interactive Computing, has beenelected to a three-year term as vice president of SIGGRAPH (SpecialInterest Group on Graphics and Interactive Techniques), the largestspecial interest group of the Association for Computing Machinery.
Since 1974 SIGGRAPH has sponsored the annual SIGGRAPH conference, whichis now attended by more than 30,000 people. The 2008 SIGGRAPHconference is scheduled in Los Angeles in August. This year the groupalso is sponsoring the first ever SIGGRAPH Asia in Singapore December11-13.
SIGGRAPH also sponsors other conferences around the world, and the 87professional and student chapters of the organizations around the worldalso hold regular events.
