Robo-Ethicists Want to Revamp Asimov's Laws

There is now a CONTENT FREEZE for Mercury while we switch to a new platform. It began on Friday, March 10 at 6pm and will end on Wednesday, March 15 at noon. More and more researchers are examining how to bring ethics into the world of robot behavior, but humans might also need ethical programming when it comes to robot interactions. Is it okay to kick a robot dog but tell your kids not to do that with a normal dog? How do you tell your children about the difference? said Professor Henrik Christensen, director of the Robotics & Intelligent Machines (RIM) Center at Georgia Tech.
