There is now a CONTENT FREEZE for Mercury while we switch to a new platform. It began on Friday, March 10 at 6pm and will end on Wednesday, March 15 at noon. No new content can be created during this time, but all material in the system as of the beginning of the freeze will be migrated to the new platform, including users and groups. For eight years, GRAPPA (or Genome Rearrangements Analysis under Parsimony and other Phylogenetic Algorithms) has been used to study genetic and evolutionary relationships. Now, thanks to a $1 million NSF grant, GRAPPA will get ramped up to a whole new level--the petascale level. We're breaking new ground with each new algorithm and implementation, where no one has studied before, says principal investigator and Professor David Bader of Computational Science and Engineering.
