The Center for Global Health Innovation (CGHI) recently announced the winners of its 2023 Golden Helix Awards. Global Center for Medical Innovation (GCMI) CEO Sherry Farrugia is this year’s recipient of the 2023 Industry Growth Awards for her impact on the life sciences industry in the state. The Industry Growth Awards are the highest honors bestowed each year by CGHI.

“Our community strives to improve patients’ lives, support workforce development, grow Georgia’s economy, and be a driving force for good in the world,” CGHI’s CEO Maria Thacker Goethe said. “The Golden Helix Awards highlight those lasting contributions made by many in the life sciences sector in Georgia.”

The Golden Helix Awards celebrate the contributions and achievements of Georgia legislative, academic, corporate, and advocacy leaders working to advance the growth of the life sciences industry and foster strategic partnerships that can create a healthier world. The event is expected to draw 200 of the state’s life sciences industry leaders.

“I am deeply honored to accept this prestigious award, and I proudly share it with the entirety of the Atlanta and Georgia life science community who have supported me throughout my journey,” said Farrugia. “A special thank you to the GCMI team who contribute daily to the development, testing, training, and commercialization of innovative medical products that improve the human condition. I also thank our sponsors, industry and institutional alike, for entrusting us to work side by side to accelerate their technologies’ path to market and patient care.”

The formal awards presentation is scheduled for Wednesday, March 29, 2023, at the Fox Theatre in Atlanta. Interested parties can register here.
