Sound may be something we all take for granted on a day-to-day basis, but it has the power to transport us into our memories and out beyond our lived experiences.

On Friday, February 10, filmmaker Sam Green invites you to join him on an immersive and transformative adventure with 32 Sounds. You’ll grab a headset as you enter the theater and get ready to take a trip through the world of sound. We all experience sound differently; hear the call of a solo songbird, the crash of a falling tree, the buzz of a drone – where do those sounds take you, and what they make you feel?

According to Green, “32 Sounds is my latest experiment in form––a live documentary focusing on the power of sound to bend time, cross borders, and profoundly shape our perception of the world around us.”

Georgia Tech Arts, in the Division of Student Engagement & Well-Being, serves the campus community by facilitating connections with exceptional artists from around the world, and by supporting students in the development of their own creative practices. The presentation of 32 Sounds is integral to the creation of an arts-infused campus that supports the active collaboration of art, science, and technology while providing students with the creative tools, experiences, and inspiration to improve the human condition.

Aaron Shackelford, director of Georgia Tech Arts, reflects “As an immersive film, 32 Sounds shows all of us at Georgia Tech how the creative use of technology can tell a vibrant set of stories. I’m excited to see how this work inspires our students to use their expertise to find innovative new ways to communicate.”

On February 10, join Sam at the Ferst Center for the Arts to share in this exquisite, unique experience!

Tickets start at just $5 to enjoy what Vox magazine called “…a delightful, joyous film that changes the way you look at — or maybe listen to — the world.”
