Summaries

Summary Sentence: Chemical Inventory Reconciliation is due Thursday, December 15.

Full Summary: Twice a year Georgia Tech labs that use and store chemicals on campus are required to complete chemical inventory reconciliation.

Georgia Tech labs that use and store chemicals on campus are required to complete chemical inventory reconciliation twice each year. Reconciliation for Fall 2022 is due Thursday, December 15th at 11:59 PM. By this deadline, all chemical inventory reconciliation information must be entered into EHSA. We will submit the GT campus inventory report to the Board of Regents shortly after (as required by Georgia law). First responders use our campus chemical inventory system. The data they receive is only as accurate as the information entered. We strongly encourage labs to complete the reconciliation via EHSA as soon as possible.

TRAINING SESSIONS - November 29th through December 9th

Six in-person training sessions will offered beginning November 29th. The schedule can be found here or on the EHS website. Sign up is not required to attend trainings. Instructions for completing reconciliation are also found on the EHSA Handbook website.

REQUEST EHSA ACCESS FOR LAB MEMBERS

If any lab members need access to login to EHSA, the best method is for PIs/Lab Managers to request access by following these instructions so that EHS staff may quickly and easily approve the request. If you email EHSA to request an account during reconciliation, you may be asked to follow the above instructions as EHS staff may not have time to look up and add each account individually during these busy weeks.

REQUEST BARCODE LABELS

Additional barcode labels may be picked up from the EHS vehicle parked at the Ford ES&T loading dock (located on Cherry St behind Russ Chandler Stadium) Monday through Friday between 10-10:30am. Barcodes may also be requested by following these instructions. Requests submitted through EHSA will be delivered within 3-4 business days. If you need barcodes more quickly, it is recommended to pick them up from EHS during daily time at the loading dock.

BORROW A BARCODE SCANNER

If you need to borrow a barcode scanner to complete reconciliation, please email ehsa@gatech.edu and include your name/PI name in the subject line. NOTE: EHS has purchased several new scanners in order to better serve labs completing reconciliation. However, there may still be a waiting list for scanners, so do not wait until the last minute to check out a scanner.

If you have any questions or need assistance, please contact ehsa@gatech.edu.

Thank you for your cooperation in completing reconciliation on time!
