Registration is now open for University Global Coalition’s (UGC) annual gathering, which will take place over Zoom on Oct. 3, 4, 6, and 7. There’s no cost to attend any of the sessions.

Established in 2019, the UGC comprises a group of higher education leaders from across the globe, including Georgia Tech. Together, they work to advance the 17 United Nations (UN) Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) through education, research, partnerships, and campus operations.

President Cabrera emphasized the SDGs as a Georgia Tech priority during a September 2020 kickoff event, which included a panel discussion about the SDGs as a framework to catalyze action and positive change. Read more on the Georgia Tech News Center.

As a university driven to improve the human condition through technology and committed to the motto “progress and service,” Georgia Tech is uniquely positioned to lead and significantly contribute to many of these goals. From artificial intelligence, to business and policy, engineering or biology, we have the talent and the resources to make a difference.

Whether you are a new student, faculty member, or staff, you are welcome and encouraged to attend the University Global Coalition 2022 Gathering. To achieve the 17 SDGs, we need all of you.

This year’s conference spans four days, and the sessions occur at different times to encourage global participation. The week will feature interactive opening and closing plenaries, panels, small workshops, and guided conversations.

Sessions will include an opening on the convening power of higher education, partnerships for Zero Hunger, In Pursuit of Peace, Climate Action Partnerships, a Higher Education SDG Leadership Panel, From Traditional to Transformative Partnerships, and a closing session featuring the leads of global higher education SDG networks. Keynote speakers include World Bank’s Global Lead for Tertiary Education Roberta Malee Bassett and the Sustainable Development Solutions Network’s President Jeffrey Sachs.  ______________________________________________________________.
