There is now a CONTENT FREEZE for Mercury while we switch to a new platform. It began on Friday, March 10 at 6pm and will end on Wednesday, March 15 at noon. No new content can be created during this time, but all material in the system as of the beginning of the freeze will be migrated to the new platform, including users and groups. Functionally the new site is identical to the old one. webteam@gatech.edu

Our research team embarked on a multiyear, NSF-funded project with the aim of systematically evaluating the role that a broad range of activities, including those connected to a community engagement (CE) experience, have on student attitudes about their ethical responsibilities to the public.
Among the questions we sought to examine are: (1) whether and how curricular experiences promote a concern for the public’s well-being and (2) what role extracurricular activities play, if any, in increasing student concern for the public. In this presentation, Borenstein will provide an overview of the project’s mixed methods approach, highlight several of the key research findings, and discuss the implications the findings could have for ethics education.
