Jeff Mullen, associate professor of agricultural & applied economics at the University of Georgia, will discuss “Assessing the Potential for Composting to Reduce Carbon Emissions from Large-Scale Waste Streams”. Mullen will describe the carbon emissions model that has been developed to estimate emissions associated with the disposal of biosolids in Georgia.
Jacqueline Mohan, associate professor in the Odum School of Ecology at the University of Georgia will discuss: “Afforestation and Silvopasture in Georgia: Background & Steps Forward.” Mohan will describe her research on the impact of past and future global changes on plant population dynamics & ecosystem carbon responses.
Moderated by Marilyn A. Brown, Regents' Professor in the School of Public Policy at the Georgia Institute of Technology.
