There is now a CONTENT FREEZE for Mercury while we switch to a new platform. It began on Friday, March 10 at 6pm and will end on Wednesday, March 15 at noon. No new content can be created during this time, but all material in the system as of the beginning of the freeze will be migrated to the new platform, including users and groups. Functionally the new site is identical to the old one. webteam@gatech.edu

Title: Multi-Agent Grouping Strategy based on Opinion Dynamics and Information Estimation
Committee:
Dr. F. Zhang, Advisor
Dr. Wardi, Chair
Dr. Zhou
Abstract: The objective of the proposed research is to develop a unified strategy for multi-agent systems in a PDE field such that the agents will be able to collaboratively estimate the field value and gradient while moving in the field, and they can also be divided into different groups to conduct separate tasks using the estimated information and measurements. The estimation problem will be solved by using a constrained cooperative Kalman filter leveraging general information dynamics of the PDE model. The grouping of the agents will be driven by novel algorithms of opinion dynamics on the sphere with various convergence results.
