Title:

The natural anti-Gal antibody in future alpha-gal therapies

Abstract:

The lecture will include a brief introduction on the history of the natural anti-Gal antibody and its significance in preventing complete extinction of ancestral Old World monkeys and apes. The main part will include discussion of methods for harnessing anti-Gal in various future alpha-gal therapies including: prevention of zoonotic infections, acceleration of wound healing and prevention of scar formation in skin injuries and following myocardial infarction, amplification of viral vaccine efficacy and prevention of future variants formation.
