Richard Utz, professor of medievalism studies in the School of Literature, Media, and Communication and associate dean for faculty development in Ivan Allen College of Liberal Arts, presented at the international symposium "Reflektiertes Mittelalter – Formen und Funktionen der Mittelalterrezeption” [Reflective Middle Ages - Forms and Functions of the Reception of the Middle Ages] hosted by the Alfried Krupp Institute for Advanced Study in Greifswald. Utz’s presentation was titled “Wem gehört das Mittelalter? Vergangenheit im Spannungsfeld zwischen Gesellschaft und Universität” [Whose Middle Ages? The Past between Society and Academy].
