Retired Gen. Philip Breedlove, a distinguished professor of the practice in the Sam Nunn School of International Affairs, signed onto an op-ed in The Hill. The piece, “36 Experts Agree: Stay the Course in Ukraine,” argued for the United States to continue its support of Ukraine in its war against Russia.

In the article, Breedlove and the other signers argue that Russia’s invasion of Ukraine directly threatens American and Western interests, and that Ukraine needs continued military and economic support to stave off more attacks. They specifically advocate for sending more advanced weapons to Ukraine and putting increased economic pressure on Russia’s oil industry.

“This unjustified war has a clear aggressor — Russia — and a clear victim — Ukraine,” they write. “The West should aim to see that the Kremlin’s aggression fails and that Ukraine prevails on the battlefield or achieves an outcome that Kyiv can accept.”
