Tech Campus is Hosting High School Graduations

There is now a CONTENT FREEZE for Mercury while we switch to a new platform. It began on Friday, March 10 at 6pm and will end on Wednesday, March 15 at noon. No new content can be created during this time, but all material in the system as of the beginning of the freeze will be migrated to the new platform, including users and groups. Beginning Saturday, May 21, the Georgia Tech campus will be the site of several external events, including graduation ceremonies for Atlanta Public Schools. Students and employees on campus can expect an increase in traffic and campus visitors at different times, as events will take place throughout each day.

 

Upcoming events include:  

May 21, 3 – 5 p.m.:

Georgia Cyber Academy at McCamish Pavilion

May 21, 5 p.m.:

Atlanta Track Club Wingfoot Night of Champions at Griffin Track and Field Facility

 

Parking Information for May 21:

Please move your vehicle from the following lots/streets by 6 a.m. on Saturday, May 21:

  • E65 (all areas)
  • ER55 (both sides of Fowler Street between Sixth and 10th streets)
  • Eighth Street meters

Notes:

  • This includes all ROTC, service, and government vehicle spaces.
  • Fowler Street will be dedicated to ADA parking needs.
  • At the conclusion of each ceremony, Fowler will be southbound only.  
  • Unfortunately, vehicles remaining in these areas after the deadline may be relocated at the owner’s expense.
  • No parking zones and fire lanes must be kept clear at all times, and vehicles remaining in these areas will be relocated at the owner’s expense.

The following areas do not have to be cleared but will experience significant congestion:  

  • E52-Peters Deck
  • ER66-Family Housing Deck
  • W23-North Deck
  • E40- Klaus Deck

 

The following events will take place at McCamish Pavilion:  

May 23:

Commencement Rehearsals, 8:30 a.m. – 4:45p.m.

May 24:

  • Commencement Rehearsal, 8:30 a.m.
  • B.E.S.T. and Coretta Scott King YWLA High School Graduation will be held at 4 p.m.
  • KIPP Atlanta High School Graduation will be held at 7 p.m. 

May 25:

  • Commencement Rehearsal, 8:30 a.m.
  • Midtown High School Graduation will be held at 11 a.m.
  • Frederick Douglass High School Graduation will be held at 3 p.m.
  • Booker T. Washington High School Graduation will be held at 7 p.m.

May 26:

  • Commencement Rehearsal, 8:30 a.m.
  • Benjamin E. Mays High School Graduation will be held at 11 a.m.
  • Carver High School Graduation will be held at 3 p.m.
  • South Atlanta High School Graduation will be held at 7 p.m.

May 27:

  • North Atlanta High School Graduation will be held at 11 a.m.
  • Maynard H. Jackson High School Graduation will be held at 3 p.m.
  • Daniel M. Therrell High School Graduation will be held at 7 p.m.
