Calvin Yu, sr. director of Operational Excellence, has joined the Administrative Services Center (ASC).
A veteran of Operation Enduring Freedom in Afghanistan, Yu takes pride in leading teams through challenging projects and initiatives. Prior to joining Tech, he served in higher ed at Yale and the UN University, as diplomat with State, an engineer officer in the US Army, and as a police officer here in Atlanta. Most recently, he was a director of Student Success & Engagement at Yale University where he led strategic programs, assessment, and DEIB initiatives.
He will leverage his leadership experience and passion for data to ensure effective and efficient operations within the ASC. Yu oversees a diverse portfolio of work within the ASC which includes organizational readiness, continuous improvement, program management, learning and development, knowledge base management, and metrics development & reporting.
Yu is a two-time Georgia Tech graduate and holds three master's degrees: MBA from Columbia University, MS Statistics from Kennesaw State University, and MS International Affairs from Georgia Tech.
In his free time, he enjoys teaching salsa dancing with his partner and invites you to join in with the Georgia Tech Salsa Club.
