Assistant Professor Germán Vergara's book Fueling Mexico: Energy and Environment, 1850-1950, won an honorable mention for "Best Book in the Humanities" at the Latin American Studies Association Mexico Section Awards 2022. Vergara is a faculty member in the School of History and Sociology. Next year, he will be a Cisneros Visiting Scholar at the David Rockefeller Center for Latin American Studies at Harvard University.
