At the showcase, student inventors across campus presented over 30 functional prototypes with application to real-world problems. The showcase is the culmination of I2P, where Georgia Tech students spend a semester turning their invention idea into a working product. Students earn research credit in addition to receiving financial support and faculty mentorship.
This semester’s winner, a second-year computer science student at Georgia Tech, developed a smart legal workdesk that helps attorneys re-engineer their work environment.
“CaseDocker allows lawyers and law firms to manage their clients, cases, calendar, billing and other tasks from one central platform that is accessible anywhere at any time,” said Singhal. “It helps lawyers save time so they can focus more on billable work.”
In addition, CaseDocker provides users with a customizable real-time dashboard, channels to communicate and collaborate with associates, and a secure cloud environment, eliminating the need for physical case files.
While developing CaseDocker, Singhal had to overcome challenges, including understanding customer requirements.
“The legal field is a field that is slow to accept technology, thus it was hard to initially understand what lawyers would be willing to pay for,” said Singhal.
Today CaseDocker offers various monthly and yearly subscription services and has over 500 paying customers in India. So, where does the startup go from here? Singhal plans to expand CaseDocker to the U.S. market and sell to more customers.
When asked what advice he would give to other students interested in I2P or another CREATE-X program, Singhal suggested every Yellow Jacket participate in CREATE-X.
“It is one of the best programs at Georgia Tech,” said Singhal. “CREATE-X has helped me connect with many people and has helped me learn the fundamentals of launching a startup.”
CREATE-X also awarded prizes for second and third place at the showcase. Divyam Gupta, founder of PuStack, won second place for his education technology platform for Indian students and team SwamCam, consisting of Viraj Kacker, Ankith Kodali, Vedic Panda, and Katie Park, won third place for their web-app that allows swim coaches to upload their videos and receive analytics through CV techniques.

CREATE-X is now accepting applications for the summer and fall semesters of I2P. Teams accepted into the program will have the opportunity to advance their invention idea towards a real product by performing basic research, analysis, building, and testing.
