Congratulations to the HSOC Class of 2022!

The School of History and Sociology is proud to graduate nine undergraduate students, one master's student, and one Ph.D. student this spring and summer.

Come rain or shine; the HSOC graduating class will walk across the stage at Booby Dodd stadium this weekend to receive their hard-earned degrees. Suddenly, they will be ready to set off on a new adventure.

As their last few days on campus draw to a close, we asked our graduating class to share the new opportunities they're heading off to next and reflect on their best memories and proudest achievements from their time at Georgia Tech. This is what they said:

Yihua Xu

Degree program: B.S. in History, Technology, and Society (HTS) and B.S. in Mathematics

Post-grad plans: I am planning to go to Rice University to continue my Ph.D. studies in the field of Computational and Applied Mathematics. I will likely focus on the intersection of computational/numerical math theories and quantitative sociology.

Best memory at Georgia Tech: My best memory of Tech is encountering so many great professors and friends who support me wholeheartedly along the way.

Congratulations, Yihua! Read more about his undergrad experience in his student spotlight.

Kim Molina-Veronico

Degree program: B.S. in History, Technology, and Society with minors in Spanish and Technology & Business through the Denning Technology & Management Program

Post-grad plans: I will be moving to Seattle in August to work for Microsoft as a Product Marketing Manager.

Best memory at Georgia Tech: My favorite memory from Tech is the 2021 football game at Mercedez Benz. We beat UNC, and that was the most hype I've ever seen GT.

Congratulations, Kim! Read more about her undergrad experience in her student spotlight.

Micah Maxie

Degree program: B.S in History, Technology, and Society

Post-grad plans: After graduation, I plan on traveling a bit, working, and preparing to apply to graduate school in the fall of 2023.

Proudest achievement at Georgia Tech: My proudest moment at Georgia Tech was when I successfully completed and presented a research topic that I found intriguing. It was overwhelming but something that I am proud to say that I have accomplished. I can honestly say that I have learned an enormous amount about research, and it is something that I would like to continue.

Congratulations, Micah! Read more about his undergrad experience in his student spotlight.
