The European Union Center of Excellence (EUCE) at Georgia Tech along with its European partners and other supporting organizations have organized a series of events to commemorate Europe Day 2011. The Schuman Declaration on May 9, 1950 launched the European integration project that today unites 27 countries and continues to foster peace, stability and prosperity across Europe.

May 7 ~ Teaching Europe: A Workshop for Educators

May 9 ~ 2011 EUROPE DAY CELEBRATION

The capstone event of Europe Week 2011 features a range of activities including a roundtable discussion with local European diplomats, exhibits from EU Member States, local cultural organizations, Atlanta's European Sister Cities, and a policy symposium. Most events will take place in the Student Center Ballroom on the Georgia Tech campus,May 9th, unless otherwise indicated: 350 Ferst Drive, NW, Atlanta, Georgia 30318.

9-9:30 a.m. A light breakfast will be served allowing for time to enjoy the information tables and exhibits provided by EU Member States, local cultural organizations and Atlanta's European Sister Cities.

9:30-11 a.m. Roundtable Discussion: "EU Leadership in an Uncertain World" with distinguished members of the European Consular Corps. Invitation and RSVP

12-1:30 p.m. NATO: Defining The Mission Luncheon Presentation with His Excellency Anders Fogh Rasmussen, Secretary General, North Atlantic Treaty Organization. Hosted by the Atlanta World Affairs Council @ the Commerce Club Atlanta. Invitation to Luncheon and RSVP

2 - 5 p.m. Symposium: "Industries of the Future: Economic Growth through Clean Energy and Clean Jobs" with the Ecologic Institute, the German Embassy, and the German Consulate General in Atlanta. Invitation and RSVP

5 -7 p.m. Reception and Celebration
