Assembled Cooking Unit for Backpackers Wins PDMA Student Competition

Georgia Tech Industrial Design junior Michael Vinson won "The Next Big Idea" Undergraduate Student Competition in the annual Product Development and Management Association (PDMA) for his 'Assembled Cooking Unit' designed around the needs of backcountry backpackers. Michael Vinson will give a presentation on Thursday April 21 at the College of Managment GSM Building Room 103. PDMA is the premier global advocate for product development and management professionals. Their mission is to improve the effectiveness of individuals and
organizations in product development and management. This is accomplished by providing resources for professional development, information, collaboration and promotion of new product development and management. Each year the Georgia PDMA sponsors a competition among universities and colleges in Georgia and surrounding states to foster and recognize outstanding graduate and undergraduate student papers about new product development topics.
